Cynthia Castiglione has an extensive background in arts management and is excited to join TUTA as its managing director. For six years she served as curator for Around the Coyote, a biannual theater festival focusing on new and emerging works by Midwestern companies and playwrights. For two years, she oversaw the day-to-day production management for Blair Thomas and Company, known for its large-scale puppetry. She is a longtime collaborator with Redmoon, an internationally renowned spectacle company known for performances that are “equal parts pageantry, gadgetry, acrobatics and ephemera.” She has also performed in several Redmoon shows, including a Halloween installment at the White House, and has taught with its arts education programs. Other theater companies she has worked with over the past decade include Collaboraction, House, Opera Vanguard, Piven and Straw Dog. She also has 10 years of experience in education, and contributed to the creation of a comprehensive Chicago arts curriculum sponsored by Northeastern University.
