The Anyway Cabaret (an animal cabaret)

"TUTA’s quirky, shrewdly playful world premiere musical frolic that runs for just two more weekends ...is very much a human story — a sly, engaging look at biology, psychology, the hunter and the hunted, the eater and the eaten, and, of course, that inevitable endgame, mortality.” - Chicago Sun-Times

"It's an excellent example of Chicago-generated new work in terms of creativity and ensemble performance, and it carries a life-affirming message even in the face of grim reality." -Chicago Critic

"This cast of ten is phenomenally talented; they are not only excellent actors, but they are skilled musicians" - Chicago Stage Standard

"There's something to be said about a show that isn't like anything you've ever seen before, and that's something the animals of Anyway Cabaret can offer."    - Gaper's Block

TUTA invites you to participate in a theatrical fantasy that celebrates the mysteries of life and the power of the imagination.  The Anyway Cabaret (an animal cabaret) is a hauntingly funny, song-filled new play that follows a group of over 28 different changing characters performing in a life or death cabaret show.  A mix of imaginative storytelling, spirited folk rock music, and theatrical surprises create an interactive experience that you won’t want to miss.  A cast of ten energetic actor/musicians brings this international world premiere to Chicago.  TUTA's world premiere is written and composed by Slovenian artist Martin Marion, and directed by TUTA Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone.

This production is presented in association with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE).
